Designed for a family looking to produce food for themselves on a hilly and wooded 5-acre parcel, this Masterplan focuses on identifying plants and management systems that are specifically adapted to the particulars of the location.
The plan centers on a green garden core where the most intensive systems will be located. Radiating out from that area are areas of semi-cultivation, and the majority of the property is left as wild forest. Small animal systems are suggested which are appropriate to the steep terrain and limited cultivatable area.
The plan includes augmenting the potential for wild foraging, and emphasizes the value of forest health to the vibrancy, resilience and abundance of the homestead overall.
